New Donkey thinks he knows what the GOP’s big November surprise will be:
“The conservative media echo chamber is now vibrating from a cacophany of warnings that Democrats are trying to steal the presidential election by fradulently registering ineligible voters.”
He sees an attempt to prepare the media and the public for an bold gambit, in which paid Republican operatives are dispatched to polling places in heavy minority areas to challenge the validity of voter registration and to “mess with the minds and ballots of voters.”
But he sees the possibility of a backlash, and thinks Bush should have the decency to warn his “volunteers” that they might be in for more than their money’s worth if they spend the day randomly harrassing minority voters. “After all, playing Bull Conner without the fire hoses and the police dogs could be hazardous to your health.”
