Why do I say that? Well, let me begin my answer with another question:
2) If someone set your house on fire, would you hire him to rebuild it?
No. You wouldn’t. Similarly, not many Iraqis, having seen their cities bombed and their family members killed by tanks and missiles sporting the old Red, White, and Blue are going to be able to trust the same armed force that leveled the country to rebuild it. So we need to get some other countries involved to prove that we are not trying to steal their friggin’ country. They need to know that when the peace is restored we are going to LEAVE THEM ALONE.
Here’s what Bush supporters fail to understand, and what Kerry has failed to explain succinctly: we’re not opposed to putting out the fire, we were opposed to starting it in the first place. And now that it’s raging out of control, we’re a little miffed that the human and financial cost is so high, because frankly we would rather have those troops be alive and have that money spent on education and healthcare for children, seniors, and veterans.
For the millionth time, here is our position:
Invading Iraq = Mistake
Stabilizing a country we destroyed without provocation = Necessary
Enlisting the help of other countries = The Only Possible Solution
One final question:
Just how exactly is a man who unnecessarily throws tens of thousands of Americans into a war zone while simultaneously CUTTING THEIR MEDICAL BENEFITS supporting the troops?
Explain that to me. Better yet, go to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C., find one of the hundreds of recent amputees who just returned from Iraq to limited benefits and no job. Explain it to him.
VOTE KERRY.
