I don’t have the energy to link to all the instances in the right-wing blogosphere of conservative pundits taking Kerry to task for calling Allawi a Bush puppet. “Why is Kerry dissing our allies?” asks Instapundit.
But here it is from the man at the top. According to the AP, Bush said today that “’you can't lead this country’ while undercutting an ally.”
Seriously? If undercutting an ally disqualified one from leadership, this race would already be over.
Plus, isn’t calling Allawi an ally like calling Paul Wolfowitz an ally? Inviting him here to speak is like throwing a state dinner for the Treasury Department.
